View from nearby hillside...hike or
drive...the surrounding area is beautiful.
For starters, you can just stay at Serenity Cove all day if you
like. Enjoy the solitude of the property or rent one of our
pontoons and go for a ride on the most beautiful lake in our
part of the country. There's also fishing from
the dock or shore. Lake Chatuge is noted for its great Bass
fishing.
For those with
inclinations towards adventure or recreation, take a look at
some of the offerings below...
For the Hikers...
The Appalachian Trail winds its way
near Hiawassee. Two highway crossings lie just about eight
miles from the center of town. It is an excellent hike between
the two crossings for an overnight stay atop Tray Mountain.
High Shoals Falls is located in the
High Shoals Falls Scenic Area and it stands up to its name. The
hike is a mile in and a mile out and is an easy to moderate
hike. It is a truly beautiful and seemingly remote area. It is
suitable for the family but care should be taken on the trails
with young children.
